Other High School Newspapers

  1. My favorite newspaper cover was the Northwest Passage, because the picture and font are interesting.
  2. The newspaper that immediately caught my attention was the tiger print, because the image on the cover has contrast that grabs my attention, the pink stands out from the black in the rest of the image.
  3. My favorite headline was @Twitter takes over, because its eye catching and uses a play on words.
  4. There are 5 stories on the cover of my favorite.
  5. All front covers of newspapers have big headings, and medium sized images.
  6. The color of headlines, and the style of each newspaper differs.
  7. they were somewhat similar to the other images.
Headlines:the main title for a newspaper or other material; is usually at the top


Sub headlines:a secondary title, used for a part of writing within a larger part of writing

Lines

Boxes: a news report that is surrounded by a printed rule; used to display important stories

Photos: pictures made using a camera

Teaser"front page box placed over or below the newspaper masthead; lists the important stories run on inside pages, or boxes announcing a paper's inside contents.

Flag: the title of the overall newspaper; usually surrounded by 'ears'

Folios:the line of text placed on top of inside pages, giving the page number, day and date of publication. 

Captions: text used to describe a photo; cutline

Stories: a news report of any length, usually presented in a straightforward style and without editorial comment

Bylines: the line that goes with the story;commonly gives the authors name 

Jumps: part of the story that is continued from the front page to an inside page of a newspaper 

Screens: a pattern of toy dots used to create gray areas

Infographics:an art form where words are used with charts, illustration, graphs or photographs to tell  news story.

Masthead/staff box:the forehead of the newspaper where the title of the newspaper is published,;gives the place of publication and publication date
